The Jockey Club | The July Course

Client: The Jockey Club
Role: Project Manager, Employers Agent & MEP Consultant
Sector: Leisure

DSA were privileged to work on the redevelopment of the Head-on Stand at the Newmarket July Course since its inception.  The project was completed in 2023 in readiness for the summer racing season, on time and on budget.  The building has been praised by all – by the client team, racing participants and racegoers alike.

As part of an industry-wide project, the Weighing Room was upgraded to include new changing facilities, warm up and rest areas for Jockeys.

Trackside, the Head-on Stand received a new roof, an upgrade to its exterior and sustainability improvements were introduced via solar panels and LED lighting.

The bar facilities were upgraded to include a first-floor viewing terrace with far-reaching views over the Racecourse.  The Rose Terrace on the first floor delivers Al Fresco dining, coupled with a new champagne bar at ground floor level, enhancing the customer experience at this prestigious venue.

“DSA have worked alongside us to upgrade our weighing room facilities and develop a new champagne bar and first floor terrace at The July Course at Newmarket Racecourse. From drawing up the initial concepts, to handing over the finished project, they have been a great company to work with, and at every step of gone above and beyond to deliver at all points during the contract. We look forward to seeing the upgraded  and new facilities in action throughout the summer, and thank the whole team for their work on the project.”

–  SOPHIE ABLE, NEWMARKET RACECOURSE AND INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR THE JOCKEY CLUB
